Alistair is a partner in the corporate law team at Swaab Attorneys. He qualified as a solicitor in the United Kingdom in 1995 and worked at various City law firms in London for nine years before moving to Australia. Having also qualified as a solicitor in New South Wales, he worked in the private equity group at Minter Ellison for two years before joining Swaab Attorneys in 2005.
Alistair has provided advice to businesses in many industry sectors, including financial services, property, technology, transport, insurance, manufacturing, resources, freight and retail services. His focus at Swaab Attorneys has been on the SME market where many of his clients operate.

Advising New York based company Inovia Holdings Pty Limited (the largest non-law firm provider of international patent filing solutions globally) on the partial acquisition by UK company, RWS Holdings plc, of one third interest in the Inovia business and an agreement to acquire the remaining share capital, for a maximum aggregate price of US$31.2 million

Advising boutique private equity investor Yarra Capital Partners on its acquisition of the BagTrans Group, a specialist provider of high complexity logistics services

Advising UK rail haulage company Freightliner on its 10 year haulage agreement with a global mining company to transport coal from Hunter Valley mines to Newcastle

Acting for the manufacturer of electrical transmission switch gear in its sale to a Brisbane based private equity group, NBC Capital
