2019 a year of oppor­tu­ni­ties and growth

With 2019 well under­way and our clients ramp­ing up their busi­ness activ­i­ties, I had a chance over the hol­i­days to reflect on our suc­cess­es of 2018 and what the year ahead holds.

Whilst increased com­pe­ti­tion, dis­rup­tion and con­sol­i­da­tion con­tin­ue to play out through­out the legal sec­tor, our posi­tion in the mar­ket place of serv­ing entre­pre­neurs, busi­ness­es, inno­va­tors, fam­i­lies offices, fam­i­lies and gov­ern­ment remains in grow­ing demand. High­lights includ­ed help­ing a glob­al client with their nation­al busi­ness mod­el roll-out, work­ing with a num­ber of prop­er­ty devel­op­ers to progress large-scale devel­op­ment projects, act­ing in a num­ber of high pro­file cor­po­rate mat­ters, rep­re­sent­ing clients in com­plex prop­er­ty, con­struc­tion and insol­ven­cy lit­i­ga­tion mat­ters, assist­ing pri­vate clients with busi­ness and per­son­al suc­ces­sion plan­ning and facil­i­tat­ing dis­pute res­o­lu­tions for high pro­file pri­vate clients.

In addi­tion, we host­ed our inau­gur­al Fred Swaab Hon­orary Address in mem­o­ry of the founder of our firm, which includ­ed recog­nis­ing one of our clients for liv­ing the most promi­nent of our val­ues: inno­va­tion and gen­eros­i­ty of spirit. 

How­ev­er, the most reward­ing aspect of 2018, was the feed­back we received from our clients and the acco­lades we received from our peers. In a recent client sat­is­fac­tion sur­vey 87% of clients said they always or active­ly rec­om­mend Swaab and 98% said we take the time to under­stand them and their needs, while the firm and its part­ners received a com­bined eigh­teen (18) sep­a­rate awards dur­ing the year. All of this is a direct reflec­tion on our ded­i­cat­ed pro­fes­sion­als who are select­ed because of their cul­tur­al align­ment with our work­place, their focus on client ser­vice, and their com­mit­ment to excellence. 

Our suc­cess in 2019 and beyond will be as a result of putting our peo­ple and our clients first and by liv­ing our val­ues of: Com­mit­ment, Integri­ty, Excel­lence, Gen­eros­i­ty of Spir­it, Uni­ty and Inno­va­tion. Our strong and endur­ing cul­ture has and always will be the result of devel­op­ing and nur­tur­ing long-term client rela­tion­ships. I look for­ward to the excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties 2019 and beyond holds.
