Legal Sec­re­tary — Fam­i­ly Law

We are seek­ing an expe­ri­enced, moti­vat­ed and client focussed Fam­i­ly Law Legal Sec­re­tary to be an inte­gral part of our busy Fam­i­ly Law team

About the role

This role pro­vides a high stan­dard of admin­is­tra­tive sup­port to one Con­sul­tant, one Senior Asso­ciate, and one Asso­ciate in our Fam­i­ly prac­tice group, but is an inte­gral part of the team as a whole. They have a thriv­ing prac­tice which keeps them very busy and we are look­ing for an expe­ri­enced, moti­vat­ed and client focussed Legal Sec­re­tary to help sup­port them. This is a busy role and will see you pro­vid­ing much val­ued sup­port in the fol­low­ing ways:

  • Prepar­ing, for­mat­ting and edit­ing doc­u­ments includ­ing gen­er­al cor­re­spon­dence, briefs and affidavits
  • Man­age­ment of var­i­ous correspondence
  • Client liai­son
  • Lodg­ing of court doc­u­ments with the Fam­i­ly courts
  • Obtain­ing search­es – prop­er­ty and ASIC search­es as needed
  • Dic­ta­phone typing 
  • Billing
  • Fil­ing, both paper and electronically
  • Open­ing and clos­ing of files
  • Gen­er­al admin/​secretarial duties

Skills & Experience

Ide­al­ly you are a strong admin­is­tra­tor with a min­i­mum of 4 years’ expe­ri­ence in Fam­i­ly law. The fol­low­ing describes your strengths and attributes:

  • Team play­er with a will­ing­ness to help and sup­port your team
  • Pos­i­tive, proac­tive and moti­vat­ed nature 
  • Pride in ser­vice deliv­ery with a can-do attitude
  • Abil­i­ty to man­age mul­ti­ple pri­or­i­ties and meet dead­lines whilst being calm under pressure
  • Excel­lent atten­tion to detail
  • Con­fi­dence and good judge­ment liais­ing with clients
  • Adapt­abil­i­ty and flex­i­bil­i­ty to work in an ever chang­ing environment
  • MS office suite expe­ri­ence at an inter­me­di­ate level

Expe­ri­ence in Affin­i­ty and File Site Doc­u­ment Man­age­ment would be high­ly regard­ed but not essential.
