Swaab is a multi-award winning commercial law firm with an entrenched commitment to our clients and our colleagues which we live through our own Swaab Brand of Service.
Swaab proudly serves the middle market; those listed companies, SMEs, family businesses, wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs and start-ups that want a responsive and nimble team of experts who celebrate their contribution to the broader Australian economy.
Our key areas of practice are property, corporate, commercial, intellectual property and technology, employment law, litigation, insolvency, transport and franchising. We work across a number of industries including property, retail and fashion, health, professional services, transport and media. In addition to our commercial practice we also have a highly reputable family law team.
Swaab is a member of Meritas, a global alliance of independent, full service law firms and is its only Sydney based member. This allows us to keep in touch globally, provide extended services to our clients and gives us the exposure and opportunity to work with international businesses.
We currently have a rare opportunity for a Planning & Environment Lawyer to work under the guidance of two Doyle’s recommended Partners in our well-respected Planning team.
The role will provide exposure to both advisory and litigation work, with the opportunity to engage with a wide range of clients, from developers, government departments, and agencies across a variety of planning and environment matters. You will be expected to run your own conciliation conferences.
This role would suit an experienced planning and environment lawyer, who is interested in developing their own practice and is comfortable taking carriage of their own matters.
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess prior experience in advisory and litigious matters and be willing to roll up their own sleeves and take initiative. This role would suit someone who has a passion for building strong client relationships and proven experience in business development with a desire to build their own practice.
The successful candidate will be a team player, have great communication skills, and be willing to mentor others within the team.
Workplace culture is important to us, because when our people are happy we know they will look after our clients and themselves. Swaab is a place where people feel they can innovate, collaborate and develop their careers and are rewarded for their efforts. Our people are the key to our success and we believe in recognising the value that they bring to the firm.
