We are looking for a motivated lawyer (3+ years PQE minimum) to join our dynamic Strata and Construction team. The role will include broad involvement across all facets of strata law including strata renewal matters, management issues and strata disputes and the opportunity to traverse front end contract preparation along with back-end dispute litigation gaining valuable knowledge across all areas of construction.
The supervising partner’s involvement in the remedial and strata industry with key industry stakeholders will allow opportunity for the successful candidate to be involved at the forefront of reform in the industry sector and expertise in assisting the strata and remedial sector traverse the NSW construction reform.
Furthermore, the role will be required to assist partners and senior lawyers in our Construction/Strata team across all areas of construction and strata law with a focus on:
- preparation of legal advice letters
- research
- building contracts
- preparation and collation of documents and evidence in litigation matters for building defects in strata buildings across various jurisdictions,
- strata disputes and contract disputes,
- assist in strata renewal proceedings in the Land and Environment Court of NSW
- advise on remedial building works under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have approx. 3+ years PQE. It is preferred for candidates to possess technical skills from a litigation and/or construction environment and have the ability to manage a high file load with a level of autonomy.
The successful candidate will be a team player, have great communication skills, and be willing to work on a variety of tasks.
