We are look­ing for a moti­vat­ed lawyer (3+ years PQE min­i­mum) to join our dynam­ic Stra­ta and Con­struc­tion team. The role will include broad involve­ment across all facets of stra­ta law includ­ing stra­ta renew­al mat­ters, man­age­ment issues and stra­ta dis­putes and the oppor­tu­ni­ty to tra­verse front end con­tract prepa­ra­tion along with back-end dis­pute lit­i­ga­tion gain­ing valu­able knowl­edge across all areas of construction. 

The super­vis­ing part­ner’s involve­ment in the reme­di­al and stra­ta indus­try with key indus­try stake­hold­ers will allow oppor­tu­ni­ty for the suc­cess­ful can­di­date to be involved at the fore­front of reform in the indus­try sec­tor and exper­tise in assist­ing the stra­ta and reme­di­al sec­tor tra­verse the NSW con­struc­tion reform. 

Fur­ther­more, the role will be required to assist part­ners and senior lawyers in our Construction/​Strata team across all areas of con­struc­tion and stra­ta law with a focus on:

  • prepa­ra­tion of legal advice letters
  • research
  • build­ing contracts
  • prepa­ra­tion and col­la­tion of doc­u­ments and evi­dence in lit­i­ga­tion mat­ters for build­ing defects in stra­ta build­ings across var­i­ous jurisdictions, 
  • stra­ta dis­putes and con­tract disputes, 
  • assist in stra­ta renew­al pro­ceed­ings in the Land and Envi­ron­ment Court of NSW 
  • advise on reme­di­al build­ing works under the Design and Build­ing Prac­ti­tion­ers Act 2020

Skills & Experience

To be con­sid­ered for this posi­tion, you will have approx. 3+ years PQE. It is pre­ferred for can­di­dates to pos­sess tech­ni­cal skills from a lit­i­ga­tion and/​or con­struc­tion envi­ron­ment and have the abil­i­ty to man­age a high file load with a lev­el of autonomy. 

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date will be a team play­er, have great com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, and be will­ing to work on a vari­ety of tasks.
