About the role
We need a motivated, client-focused Commercial Lawyer who is interested in working on general commercial matters as well as real estate specific commercial work. Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years PQE working on general commercial matters. This role will suit someone who has an interest in, or experience in, the real estate industry as well as corporate, general commercial and litigation. While some of the real estate work is niche, this can be taught to the right person who has good understanding of transactions generally.
The types of matters in the real-estate space include but aren’t limited to:
- mergers and acquisitions (rent roll and real estate businesses specifically)
- regulatory compliance with NSW Fair Trading
- minor debt recovery matters, such as commission claims and unpaid vendor advertising – so an interest in litigation is preferred
- restraints and contractor queries
- corporate structuring
More generally, you will be involved in preparing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including share/asset sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, commercial contracts and structuring and restructuring documents, as well as undertaking due diligence and corporate governance work.
Skills & Experience
You must have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience as a Commercial lawyer. We’re looking for a great communicator with high attention to detail, strong technical skills, a sensible commercial attitude to problem-solving, and the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic commercial lawyer who wants to grow and develop in a thriving firm.
