Michael Phillips has joined Swaab Attorneys as a partner, expanding the firm’s capability in their Corporate group.

Michael relocated from Hong Kong to Sydney in 2010. He has practiced as an attorney for over 20 years —16 of which as a partner within international law firms in London and Hong Kong. His experience ranges from corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and regulatory compliance to general corporate and commercial law. Michael has represented numerous international clients on entering as well as exiting the China market and on both public and private merger and acquisition transactions. He has also advised boards in connection with corporate governance protocols.

Michael was referred to as a Leading Individual” in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 in the field of Capital Markets by The Asia Pacific Legal 500. He joins Swaab Attorneys from his niche corporate and transactional practice, Phillips Law.

We are thrilled to have Michael joining the firm and our Corporate Group. Michael’s experience is a perfect complement to the skills and expertise of our Corporate Department — this will be of great benefit to our clients. Michael’s knowledge of and experience with the Asian market will add more depth to the international services provided by our Corporate group.” said Swaab Managing Partner, Mary Digiglio.
