Experience

I have been working in the legal industry for over ten years, starting as a legal receptionist. I studied my law degree whilst working full time in a legal support capacity, and have a deep appreciation for every person at a firm who contributes towards the successful management of matters. In my first two years as a lawyer, I worked primarily in personal injury litigation, which requires a great deal of empathy, both towards clients and their legal matters. Since moving into commercial law, I remain committed to provide clients with a personalised and empathetic service.

Prior to commencing my role at Swaab, I had a varied practice of private, corporate and government clients in a range of different matters, including:

  • compulsory acquisition matters for both affected landowners and local government.
  • local court prosecutions, orders and investigations under the Local Government Act 1993, Companion Animals Act 1998, Roads Act 1993 and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and Local Land Services Act 2013.
  • providing advice on a wide range of planning issues, including development control orders, easements, land use and zoning.
  • transfer of approvals pursuant to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
  • commercial litigation in the District, Supreme and Federal Courts, including claims for misleading and deceptive conduct, professional negligence, breach of contract, defamation, bankruptcy, and injunctive relief.

Roles, Membership and Education

  • Law Society of NSW
  • LLB (Honours) – University of Southern Queensland
  • Certificate II and III in Auslan
