Swaab is delight­ed to wel­come new part­ner Helen Kow­al to the firm’s PPP Prac­tice.

Helen brings with her a career span­ning over 25 years in gen­er­al prac­tice, for the past decade Helen has spe­cialised in build­ing and con­struc­tion, stra­ta and prop­er­ty law, includ­ing lit­i­ga­tion and dis­put­ed res­o­lu­tion. Helen has worked for many own­ers cor­po­ra­tions, devel­op­ers and builders in all facets of build­ing and con­struc­tion law in all jurisdictions.

Helen’s broad range of expe­ri­ence includes, being at the fore­front of recent­ly intro­duced stra­ta renew­al leg­is­la­tion, act­ing for own­ers cor­po­ra­tions, own­ers and builders in, build­ing defect claims in Supreme Court of NSW, nego­ti­at­ing and draft­ing of build­ing con­tracts, project man­age­ment and super­in­ten­dent agree­ments and act­ing in bound­ary and devel­op­ment mat­ters includ­ing ease­ments, crane and ground anchor licence deeds, bound­ary, tree and fenc­ing dis­putes and plan­ning issues.

Helen said she is excit­ed about join­ing Swaab and the oppor­tu­ni­ty to work close­ly with the exist­ing Prop­er­ty, Plan­ning & Projects Team,
